Can't find the setup guide you need?

Over the last few versions of swipe, we've introduced a new method of setting up swipe to take transactions. The other setup guides listed on our site will still work, but the following steps are easier, more straightforward and don't require you to key long strings of characters in using the tiny iPhone keyboard. These steps should work for any merchant, even those not listed elsewhere in our setup guides. Please note that the steps for version 3.8 differ slightly from prior versions and the steps are noted in bold in the directions below.
Swipe Setup
1) Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone, scroll down to "Swipe". Select that and chose "Reset All Settings".
2) Exit "Settings", simply returning to your iPhone's home screen. Put down your iPhone for a moment.
3) On a computer go to "http://appninjas.com/account and login. Create an account if you havn't been here before. You can use any email you want for a username here, you won't receive any email from this nor will it have any OTHER connection to your email.
4) Click on "Gateway Settings" to the right. Select your merchant from the list and enter your gateway information in the appropriate spaces. This gateway information will have to be obtained from your Merchant provider if you havn't gotten it already.
5) Once this is done scroll all the way down and click "save changes" at the bottom of the screen.

a) If you have version 3.7 or below return to your iPhone. Open Swipe and select "login", then enter the username and password you used on step 3 above. Once entered click "login" again. b) If you have version 3.8 or later return to your iPhone. Open Swipe and enter the username and password you used on step 3 above where it says "log in to your swipe acount". Once entered click "login". If you where given a setup code enter that now, then lastly agree to the terms and conditions.
Once this is done Swipe should receive all it's settings from the account you setup online and be ready to take transactions. Also note you may go back to step 3 and using the links on the right side of the screen you may look at your history, take a moment to customize your receipts and change your password among other things.
