Swipe app shuts down

Marc Roy May 07, 2010

Everytime I process a transaction the app shuts down on my iPhone.  I click "Charge it" and see the wheel processing and then app shut down giving no mention if transaction has gone through.  The transactions are going through though but don't show in the History. I restarted the iPhone a few times but it still acts the same.

Hello Marc,

We just released a new update to fix this very issue.  3.8.1 should be available in iTunes for free and should be rid of the problem.

Hello,

What iPhone are you on?  3G?  3GS?  4?  Newest OS?

IF you havn't done so already you might try deleting Swipe from your phone and simply reinstall it from iTunes.  A quick soft reset might also do it.  If not, or if you've already tried these things just let me know and I'll open up a ticket and we'll investigate.

Hey guys, I am running on an iPhone 4 with the latest update as of august 13th 2010. My app is also having the same issues. It crashes even while using the test gateway.

Hello,

You might try deleting swipe from your iPhone and from iTunes then re-download it from the iTunes store (they should recognize you own it already and charge nothing).  After this if you havn't already do a soft reset on your phone.  9 times out of 10 on the newer OS and Swipe version this is all it takes.

I've deleted Swipe from my iPhone and from iTunes, reloaded, soft-reset, but still Swipe crashes when I try to complete a test transaction using the testing mode in settings and AppNinjas Test as the gateway.  iPhone 3G, iOS 4.1. Suggestions welcome.

Hello,

I'm sorry your having that problem.  We encounter it once in a while, but usually resetting or reinstalling fixes it.  Just as it is on a Windows or Mac computer, an app that just shuts down with no warning is one of the toughest problems to pinpoint.  I'm going to run this by our developers and see what we can find out.  In the meantime if you woudn't mind sending an email to "support@appninjas.com", I'll gather some info from you that I don't want posted on a public forum.

Regards,
