UPDATE: Bug fixed with v 3.8.1 released 5/11/10.
Swipe 3.8 (had) a bug. UPDATE: The AppNinjas are aware of the issue and are exercising their Ninja skills on the code even as I type this. (6pm EST 5/8/10)
When initiating the transaction (using the "Charge It" button), the app instantly crashes and exits out to the device home screen.
This happens with every transaction using 3.8, at least as far as I've tested. I've confirmed it with multiple devices (iPhone 3G and iPad) on multiple networks. (two different WiFi networks, but not Edge or 3G). We use a Paypal merchant account, so this might be specific to just PayPal or may apply to all merchant accounts, I don't know.
Please Note: The charge does process correctly despite the crash.
If you experience a similar crash, check your merchant account history to verify whether or not the charge was actually processed. The history list in Swipe is not updated, but the charge did in fact process with the merchant account. Likewise, the automated email receipt is not being sent.

Thank you Blair,
As far as we can tell this is limited to PayPal account, but if you have experienced this issue with other merchants Please let us know, any information we can gather will just speed the troubleshooting problem.

I use PayPal as well and it happens to me to test mode. Any idea on how long a fix will take?

We has isolated the problem causing this crash and submitted a fix to apple which should be available for downolad within 24 hours. We are simply awaiting their expedited approval process. So in order to fix this problem keep an eye out in the following hours for an update to Swipe and download it. This should get everything back to normal.
